Today I got the news that the "Red Bull Air Race" for Budapest, Hungary scheduled for August, 2010 has been cancelled. Right now I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, only time will tell. It looks like the hotel can be cancelled with full refund and the flight can be changed for a fee. I still have to / want to be in Romania for the wedding of two friends. One of my plans for this trip was to watch the new "Wolfman" movie while in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania.

So, what I may do is stay in California for August and then spend the month of September in Romania. I will try to make my decision by midnight on 14-July-2010. That gives me a little over 24-hours. The alternative to August in Europe is a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite with Big Sur thrown in.

I was giving a surfing lesson today and a loss surfboard from a beginner hit my right had. Had to go to the emergency room and they used medical glue and tape to bind the cut. The big concern for me was the water quality or lack there-of, so I'm on a course of anti-biotics for another week. This means no surfing or swimming and I'm of the weight training so I don't rip the wound back open.

I'm still confused as to what I am going to do... The cancellation of the "Red Bull Air Race" in Budapest has given me pause to rethink the whole trip. One thing for sure is that I will be in Zalau, Romania for the 12th of September. Everything else for now is subject to change. There seems to be an uneasiness about life in general here in the USA...

Right now, I have a friend staying with me and this has placed me in a "comfort zone"... Not exactly where you want to be, but not a place you want to leave. You know it will end and that you will have to leave but it's not something you really want to end.

Wow - A lot has happened in the past few days... The hand has healed up and I went swimming today.

The person staying with me and I reached an agreement yesterday on when she would move out and when I would go to Europe. Great, so I changed my ticket with Orbitz (by the way, Orbitz has good prices but their customer service is very lacking... Also - the travel insurance offered on their site is a complete waste of money and time in my opinion, I learned that the hard way) and then later that day my "guest" asked if a girl friend of her's could "move-in"... OMG... No good deed goes unpunished.

The bad news is that my friend in Ireland that I plan to visit is mad at me for the plan change and she isn't returning my emails...

Better News - A friend in Kiev, Ukraine has planned about a week of things to do, so that part of the trip gets extended.
