Here is a great example of the San Diego Police Department's friendly and helpful approach to keeping the beach area safe while preserving a very positive public relations image. The dog you see in the back was wandering the streets of Ocean Beach. The police let the dog ride in the back of the patrol wagon, while they drove to "Dog Beach" to find her owner. This approach to police work presents a friendly posture to the public and does not interfere with the officer's primary duties.
